Flo Rida listens to “an eclectic mix” of songs while he’s on the road. The Grammy Award-nominated rapper is incredibly cosmopolitan. While he’s out travelling, Flo Rida plays a medley of music to keep him entertained.
“I travel all over the world, and I take in sounds I hear abroad – so [I listen to] an eclectic mix of music,” he told OK! magazine.
Although Flo Rida is open-minded, the star admits that he does have a few favourite musicians.
“Oh, man, I went on tour with Beyoncé. I’d do a record with her,” he said. “OutKast – I’m a big fan of them [too].”
Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on January 26 to protect baby Blue Ivy Carter’s name, according to the Washington Post. The superstar parents want to reserve it for a future line of baby carriages, baby cosmetics, and diaper bags.
While this all seems a bit ridiculous, several individuals have already submitted their own applications for the name! Fashion designer Joseph Mbeh requested “Blue Ivy Carter NYC” just four days after the baby was born, and another applicant filed on January 20 for “Blue Ivy Carter Glory IV” to use for a line of fragrances. The trademark office has denied both applications, stating that the name belonged to a “very famous infant ” and consumers may falsely assume that the products were approved by the celebrity parents.
Beyonce and Jay-Z’s application is still pending, but sources say it’s a done deal because the couple are legally authorized to trademark the names of their children.
And speaking of baby products, Gwyneth Paltrow recently bought the tiny celebritot an $880 Bugaboo baby stroller. Think B will actually use it when she pushes her little one around town? – x17online.com
Award-winning songwriter and producer says conversation on diva’s next move ‘litererally just happened’.
Much like Adele, said Ryan Tedder, Beyonce “steers the ship.” And the award-winning producer/songwriter has some idea of just where that ship is going.
Tedder was speaking with press at the 2012 Grammy Awards after picking up an honor for contributing to Adele’s Album of the Year, “21,” and his nomination for Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. Asked what his next projects were for 2012, he said that B.o.B.’s next single would be out this week, and he’s had his hands on music for K’Naan, Gavin Degraw and some “Beyonce stuff.”
He said it goes “without saying” that Bey’s work will have some reflection on her newborn child Blue Ivy, but that “the conversations about her next album literally just happened.”
“You feed her the best that you have. She’s just a phenomenal filter… she can identify what the next thing is,” Tedder said of the “Party” girl, noting that she has “two projects happening” this year. “You just let her go.”
“The loss of Whitney Houston is painful. I remember meeting Whitney for the first time when I was 15. She was the ultimate legend. The ultimate woman. Not only was she confident, poised, stunningly beautiful and intelligent, but she was sincere and kind. She took the time to make everyone feel like they were very important to her. I, like every singer, always wanted to be just like her. Her voice was perfect. Strong but soothing. Soulful and classic. Her vibrato, her cadence, her control. So many of my life’s memories are attached to a Whitney Houston song. She is our queen and she opened doors and provided a blueprint for all of us.
God bless her.”

She’s gorgeous! Awwww
“We welcome you to share in our joy.
Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives – The Carter Family”
Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s newborn daughter Blue Ivy is already charming all the right people, including her grandma.
“She’s doing great,” a beaming Tina Knowles told PEOPLE at the Runway to Win fundraising reception for Barack Obama in New York. “She’s beautiful.”
As for her duties as a doting grandma, Knowles calls them “amazing,” adding, “It’s the second best job I’ve ever had.”
Although her adoration for the new addition to her family was certainly instantaneous, Knowles is waiting to decide which parent little Blue resembles most.
“She’s only a month old,” she says. “So we have to give her a minute.”
Tina wasn’t the only Knowles out and about this week. Beyoncé stepped out two nights in a row to support husband Jay-Z, who performed a pair of shows at Carnegie Hall.
With the dust now settled on Madonna’s eye-popping halftime extravaganza, it’s time to start thinking of the possible artists who will take the biggest stage in the world next February, when the Super Bowl invades New Orleans.
With the Black Eyed Peas and Madonna taking the reins for the past two halftime shows, the Super Bowl has returned to embracing pop music after six straight years of veteran rock acts like Bruce Springsteen, the Rolling Stones and the Who. With pop back in vogue, will Beyonce or Lady Gaga make their Super Bowl debuts? Will hip-hop make its grand entrance in New Orleans — possibly with Lil Wayne leading the way? Or will rock make its comeback with the help of a contemporary act like the Foo Fighters or Coldplay?
Billboard.com offers up 10 suggestions for next year’s Super Bowl halftime spectacle. Vote for your favorite candidate at the bottom of the page, or make your case for an unnamed artist in the comments section below.
