“Eat, Play, Love,” written by Beyoncé for Essence Magazine’s July 2011 cover story, shares how a nine-month hiatus and life’s simple pleasures reignited creativity and renewed her soul. The feature is awarded first place in the arts and entertainment-writing category. The NYABJ Awards will be handed out on May 15 in New York City at a banquet to benefit NYABJ’s college scholarship fund.

Frankly, between us, after all of the organized chaos, the backbreaking choreography, the wallet-stealing and the wild hyenas of Beyoncé’s “Run The World (Girls) video,” I needed a little breather, you know? Fortunately it looks like Beyoncé’s serving up — or rather, counting down — a little sweetness and light in the sneak peek of her new “Countdown” video, which premieres Thursday, Oct. 6.

From the “Countdown” video sneak peek, we can surmise that Beyoncé’s been watching a little “Funny Face” since she’s channeling her inner Audrey Hepburn in the classic black turtleneck/slim-fit cigarette pants Audrey made instantly iconic. (Also, pumpkin-colored nails, WHUT?) Yes, Beyoncé can look impeccable in just a black turtleneck, black pants and white socks. But you knew that.

Beyoncé turns into a human clock behind a classic 1960s psychedelic, black-and-white-striped background, then a human art gallery as she morphs into a series of Lichtenstein girls come to life in primary-colored bathing suits. All this before “Countdown,” which samples Boyz II Men’s “Uhh Ahh,” starts referencing The Beatles’ “A Hard Day’s Night” split-screen motifs. We’ll take it because it means more Beyoncés to go around. Seriously, we will watch Beyoncé doing ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING if that’s not already clear.

So far, “Countdown,” from Beyonce’s 4 album (“Every hipster, that’s their favorite song,” Beyoncé said of “Countdown” in her MTV “Beyoncé: Year Of 4″ documentary) feels like it’s Bey’s “Why Don’t You Love Me” video flipped on its head… if Beyoncé hadn’t burned dinner and ruined her mascara. In terms of ’60s leanings, “Countdown,” directed by Adria Petty could also be where Beyoncé left off in her “Get Me Bodied” video, which also feels like it could’ve been shot in 1964.

Tonight E! will be unveiling the brand new video for “1+1″ as Beyoncé continues to roll out the story of 4. Coming on the heels of her “4 Intimate Nights with Beyoncé” dates, Beyoncé is ready to unleash the video to what she refers to as “my favorite song.” The video will premiere tonight on E! The “1+1″ video is the story of love at its best. It’s about commitment and fulfillment and it’s Beyoncé at her most beautiful. The video experiments with psychedelic visual effects and innovative lighting that gives the clip a cinematic feel.

“1+1,” which Beyoncé first performed on the season finale of American Idol, is not an official single but it’s the first song on the album and it’s the first of many videos which will be released to visually tell the story of 4. The dress rehearsal clip backstage at AI, “Pregame” became an instant viral hit as soon as it hit the web.

Look for Beyoncé this Sunday performing (another one of her songs) on the 2011 MTV VMAS, live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

In June, Beyoncé and Popsugar ran a contest to find one of the star’s biggest fans, and to treat that fan to a trip to New York to see Beyoncé live on Good Morning America, followed by a meeting backstage.

Over 80,000 fans entered, but only our winner Jasmine got to travel to New York to meet Beyoncé.

Popsugar documented Jasmine’s experience, which included learning the choreography to “Run The World (Girls)” from two of Beyoncé’s back-up dancers, being photographed by a world famous photographer, and, of course, meeting Beyoncé. The third and final video documenting Jasmine’s trip, in which she attends the GMAs, meets Beyoncé, and gets to find out what track off 4 was Beyoncé’s favorite that day, was posted today.

The feature was shot by Thierry Le Gouès in collaboration with artist Ebon Heath, who created the unique typography sculptures that surround Beyoncé and said of working with the icon: “Beyoncé is a piece of art and design on many levels. It’s a fantasy come true to see her swimming in my words.”
