Sony Pictures is collaborating with Ryan Murphy on a new musical comedy pitch titled “One Hit Wonders.” And guess who will star the movie… Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Beyoncé and Andy Samberg.
Ryan Murphy, known for his work for Glee, “Eat, Pray, Love” and more, will write the script together with Brad Falchulk and Ian Brennan and will produce it with Gwyneth. Ryan is currently working on another project, but he hopes he can start with this project as soon as the current project is done.
Plot:

Paltrow, Witherspoon and Diaz will play three singers who each scored a top hit song in the 1990s before watching their careers go down the drain. They decide to form a super group.

Samberg and his Lonely Island cohorts will be involved in generating music for the film. The project came out of a dinner Murphy had at the Soho House with Paltrow, Diaz and Witherspoon. They wanted to do something fun together and kicked around ideas until they settled on One Hit Wonders. – blog.martianleaks.com

Beyonce’s Pregnancy Will Delay A Star Is Born

Beyonce managed to steal the spotlight at MTV’s Video Music Awards by simply placing her hands on her stomach. Clad in a drippy red gown and beaming, the singer confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child after more than three years of marriage to Jay-Z. She then went on to perform her new song “Love on Top” and essentially look like the most powerful woman in the world while flaunting her baby bump. But as happens for so many actresses in the middle of hot careers, motherhood is going to put a slight pause in her plans for worldwide domination.

According to Deadline Clint Eastwood was hoping to get started this spring on his take on A Star is Born, the classic Hollywood story of a rising starlet falling in love with a decrepit older star on his way down. Beyonce has been attached to the project for years, even longer than Eastwood has, and has waited patiently as they tried to find an actor who could hold his own opposite her. And even though it will slow down production, Eastwood and the producers are more than willing to wait for Beyonce to give birth and enjoy motherhood for a while. The Deadline story repeats a few of the rumors about potential leading men for the film, like Christian Bale and Will Smith, but it’s clear that no one is confirmed yet.

Watching Beyonce perform tonight was a powerful reminder of what a charismatic and impressive stage presence she can be, and even though her acting chops aren’t quite confirmed– she was fine in Dreamgirls, but nothing eye-opening– I can’t think of many other musicians I’d rather see take on the Star is Born role famously played by both Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand. Hopefully she won’t just be up for the challenge, but will make it worth the wait.

Beyoncé will star in Clint Eastwood’s remake of the classic rags-to-riches tale A Star Is Born.

The Halo singer had been tipped for the role for some time but she finally confirmed the casting. “Clint Eastwood? Can you believe that? I can’t believe it still. When I met with him I was just in awe. I’m so, so honoured that he believes in me. And I can’t wait to do this film,” she said.

“I represent this generation’s talent and for me to be the chosen person, as an African American woman, is incredible,” the chart-topper added.

The role Beyoncé will play, an aspiring singer who arrives in Hollywood desperate for a break, has already been played by Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Janet Gaynor in previous remakes.

Leonardo DiCaprio is expected to be announced as the male lead, an aging film star who helps Beyoncé’s character find fame, while Clint Eastwood will direct.

Filming starts in autumn; the movie is set for release in 2012.

It’s been a good week for Beyoncé – her new album, 4, is set to top the charts after her much-talked-about performance at the Glastonbury Festival.

From justjared.com

SONG #1 ———- Part of the song, tentatively titled “Till The End of Time,” has already leaked on YouTube. “The bass line was inspired by [Nigerian musician and composer] Fela Kuti,” Beyonce shared with JustJared.com. “It’s my nephew Julez’s favorite song.” (JJ Tidbit: Jay-Z produced the Broadway musical Fela! about the late Nigerian singer.)

Here are some sample lyrics: “I wanna love you so (hit me)/ I will be the one to kiss you at night… Come on take my hand/ I won’t let you go/ I’ll be your friend/ I will love you so… Turn your rain into sun… Say you’ll never let me go.”

SONG #2 ———- This mid-tempo song has lots of drums much like “Run The World.” “Babyface wrote the song,” Beyonce told JustJared.com. The track is about karma and revenge and kicks off with, “What goes around comes back around.” Some key phrases from the song include, “Best thing I’ve ever had” and “Best thing you’ve never had.” The best line in the song goes, “You showed your ass, baby I saw the real you.” The song closes with, “Sucks to be you right now.”

SONG #3 ———- This ballad is moody and dark. It’s a song that will really sit with you, rather than be an instant smash hit. One fan asked Beyonce if she was crying at the beginning of the song because it sounded like she was. “Almost,” she responded. “I was on the verge.”

Jeff Bhasker penned this song, Beyonce confirmed. “It’s one of my favorite songs [off of the album],” she said.

Some sample lyrics: “I told you how you hurt me/ I’m crying and deserted but you don’t care/ Nobody told me this is love/ You’re immune to all my pain/ This is love but that’s okay… But I care/ I know you don’t care too much/ But I still care.”

SONG #4 ———- This track starts off the lyrics “killing me softly” and samples Boyz II Men’s “Uhh Ahh.” Beyonce uses the countdown and sings between each decremental number, “10, 9, 8…”

“Boyz II Men were the first ones to put Destiny’s Child on tour,” Beyonce told JustJared.com. “They showed us how to treat an opening act and I will never forget that. That was 15 years ago! Wow, 15 years! (laughs) I’m old.”

Some sample lyrics: “Dedicated to the one I love… diamonds in that chain… Riding that pony.. showing him how you ride… If you leave me, you’re out of your mind. London, speed it up. Houston, rock it.”

What did Jay-Z think of this song? “He liked it,” Beyonce told JustJared.com. “I don’t think he was dissecting it, just thinking of what he could do to it as a rapper.”

SONG #5 ———- Beyonce had the lights turned down for this beautiful ballad. Here’s how the song starts: “If I ain’t got nothing, I got you/ If I ain’t got something, I don’t give a damn/Because I got…”

“I don’t know much about algebra but one plus one is two,” she croons. “He ain’t got nothing but love. Darling, you got enough for the both of us. Make love when my days look low, pull me in close.”

“RUN THE WORLD (GIRLS)” VIDEO ———- It’s everything we hoped it would be – amazing! (Watch the 60-second “Run The World” teaser.)

The video starts and ends with Beyonce riding her horse, except there’s fire involved in the closing scene. A lion walks into one of the dance numbers and Beyonce has two giant hyenas on leashes in another scene.

The room went crazy during two parts of the song. The first was when Beyonce sings “eff you” and gives the middle finger (albeit pixelated with a censor). The second was when Beyonce is on her knees, bent backwards, and writhing around in the sand. It’s reminiscent of the sand dance sequence in her “Baby Boy” video

The dance sequences were choreographed by her longtime friend Frank Gatson with help from Sheryl Murakami and Mozambican kwaito dance group Tofo Tofo. Beyonce had scoured the Internet and discovered Tofo Tofo on YouTube. The funny thing is they had no idea who Beyonce was when she reached out to them! (Tofo Tofo gets down with Beyonce in a few of the dance numbers.)

————————–

Beyonce had walked into the room after her fans watched the “Run the World” video, so after the album preview, she had the video played again. “I’ve never watched it with a group of people before, so I’m excited,” she said. So the fans got to see the video not once, but twice!

After the album preview and video screening, Beyonce thanked everyone in the room for coming and said she had to go rehearse for her next “thing.” She has so many “things” coming up, we’re all so excited!

Bodyguard: Rihanna vs Beyoncé

Rihanna and Beyoncé Knowles are reportedly battling it out to land the lead role in a remake of The Bodyguard.

The original 1992 movie told the story of spoilt singer-and-actress Rachel Marron who is forced to beef up her security team when she is targeted by a crazed fan. Whitney Houston played Rachel, while Kevin Costner was Frank Farmer, a former Secret Service agent hired to protect her.

It was recently revealed Warner Bros are planning to re-invent the box office hit and are searching for a young popstar to land the lead role.

It has been claimed Rihanna and Beyoncé both have their sights set on the movie as they believe it will help boost their Hollywood careers.

“Beyoncé has already established herself as an actress so she is the clear favourite for the role right now but it depends if they want to go for someone younger like Rihanna,” a source said.

Beyoncé, 29, has already appeared in a host of films including Dreamgirls, Cadillac Records and Obsessed. Rihanna, 23, is due to make her big screen debut next year playing weapons officer Raikes in new action movie Battleship.

Other famous faces linked to the role include Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus. It has been reported Ryan Reynolds is the current favourite to play the character made famous by Costner.

The new movie will see the lead female character being harassed by an obsessed fan through a social networking site, while the bodyguard hired to keep her safe will be an Iraq war veteran.

Who do you think should land the lead role in The Bodyguard remake?

EXCLUSIVE: Clint Eastwood To Direct Beyoncé In Musical Of ‘A Star Is Born’

This is a real shocker, and not just Hollywood but the rest of America should love it. What a coup for Warner Bros getting The Man on this, the 4th version of A Star Is Born. Of course, Clint Eastwood will produce (as always through Malpaso) as well as direct the script by Will Fetters along with producers Billy Gerber and and Basil Iwanyk and Jon Peters (who made the infamous 3rd version of A Star Is Born with Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson). No male lead is cast yet, but the possibilities are endless. The project, which has been at WB for several years, had hoped to pair Beyoncé and Will Smith. But how about P Diddy (who’s turning into a surprisingly fine actor along with Beyoncé’s husband Jayz), Eddie Murphy (reteaming with Beyoncé after Dreamgirls), or any white guy imaginable though Robert Downey Jr and Jon Hamm are names that have been floating?

Hey, I’m one of those huge fans who thinks Clint can do anything. And Beyoncé scored at the box office for Screen Gems — one of its biggest — in Obsessed. (And, yes, I do happen to think she can act.) This is going to be a high profile film but low cost since Eastwood is at the helm. The idea is to start shooting in the Fall.

Of course, Clint has had a huge interest in music off and on screen. He intended to major in music theory in college. He learned how not to do a musical when starring in the dreadful Paint Your Wagon (1969). He played that super-cool jazz DJ in Play Misty For Me, his 1971 directorial debut. He sdirected and starred alongside his son Kyle in 1982′s Honkytonk Man about a Depression-era aspiring country music singer. He directing Bird (1988), a biopic starring Forest Whitaker as jazz musician Charlie “Bird” Parker. He more recently has been doing all his own scores for his movies, including Mystic River and Million Dollar Baby and Changeling. Eastwood also partly scored Gran Torino with his son Kyle and Jamie Cullum.

Warner Bros’ idea of a 4th version of A Star Is Born has been floating around for some time now. This pic fell apart and just came back together. Back in January, Deadline reported that Nick Cassavetes was in early talks with Warner Bros to direct an updated version of the well-worn story of a love affair between an alcoholic star on the way down, and a young female artist on the rise. There have been a trio of A Star Is Born versions made since the 1930s, the last one coming in 1976 with Kristofferson playing the boozer and Streisand the wannabe. Or even 4 if you consider What Price Hollywood (1932) made by George Cukor which is often forgotten.
